Uramaki Rolls Sushi

Uramaki means inside-out roll, which means the rice is on the outside, giving you a unique variation on the usual sushi roll. This is ideal for sushi with fillings that consist of more than one ingredient, meaning you can get creative with the filling!

  4. Wet your hands and spread the seasoned sushi rice over the nori.
  5. Sprinkle sesame seeds over the rice.
  6. Turn the rice and nori over carefully by folding the other empty half of the mat so that the rice is at the bottom.
  7. Place the fillings of your choice next to each other, but try not to overfill.
  8. Lift the edge closest to the bamboo mat and roll it away from you.
  9. Compress well and leave a space of 1.5 cm at the top edge.
  10. Keep rolling and compress firmly.
  11. Wet a sharp knife and cut it into pieces. (Wet the knife between cuts.)
  12. Enjoy with ginger, wasabi, and soy sauce sushi.
