For this Spanish adventurer at heart, saffron is a true golden thread in the company's activity, which was complemented in 1876 and over the years by the preparation of other spices and spice mixes.

Antoine Espig, already a producer of saffron in Spain, settled in Algeria in 1876 and founded his first company “Le SPIGOL” which aims to market Spanish saffron throughout North Africa. For this Spanish adventurer at heart, saffron is a true golden thread in the company’s activity, which was complemented in 1876 and over the years by the preparation of other spices and spice mixes.

In 1962 he left Algeria and opened his company in Marseille, which became CEPASCO, then in 1992 he moved to the current facilities in Gémenos.

Historical knowledge!

For 140 years, CEPASCO, a spice grinder, has been working as usual in its origins: from the raw products, it selects the spices, ensures the sorting, sieving, cleaning, calibrating, grinding and mixing of spices in its Gémenos workshops. This know-how, recognized in the world of spices, is complemented by the constant search for quality and rare spices all over the world.
