Nori is the Japanese name for edible seaweed. It has a strong and distinctive flavour and it is used chiefly in Japanese cuisine as na ingredient to wrap rolls of sushi or onigiri, in which case the term refers to the dried sheets.
This Obento Roasted seaweeds contains 10 sheets and makes around 50 pieces.
Seaweed (Porphyra Yezoensis). This product is naturally high in iodine.
Once opened store in an airtight container.
You will need: 500g of cooked short grain rice, 1 tablespoon of rice vinegar, seaweed sheets (nori), wasabi, fillings of your choice – tuna, cucumber, avocado, crab meat, etc. Preparation method: 1 – Sprinkle the rice vinegar over the cooked rice and mix gently. 2 – Place the seaweed sheets with the brighter side down, on the bamboo mats. 3 – Spread the rice evenly over the seaweed leaf leaving about 2 cm from the leaf end, free of rice. 4 – Pass a small amount of wasabi along the rice in a straight line. Place the fillings on top of the wasabi. 5 – Lift the front of the bamboo mat closer to you and begin to roll the sheet tightly. Almost reaching the end of the leaf, wet the exposed strip with a little water. Apply a little pressure to stick the edges of the seaweed sheet. 6 – The rolls can be tasted warm or cold.
