The original Sicilian recipe for sauce alla Norma is as simple as it is tasty. The few fresh and flavorful ingredients have made pasta alla Norma a classic of Sicilian tradition.<\/p>\n

The story of its birth is also very interesting. It all happened almost by chance, as with most of the most successful operas. Tradition has it that after the premiere at the Catania theater of Bellini, Norma, the maestro and the artists were unexpected guests of a Catanian chef. Not being prepared for the dinner, the chef decided to improvise, thus giving life to one of the most famous dishes of Sicilian tradition.<\/p>\n

Made according to a traditional Sicilian recipe, with fried eggplant and salted ricotta combined with Italian tomatoes. Rich texture with diced eggplant.<\/p>\n

Ingredients:<\/h4>\n

Tomato puree 48%, fried aubergine 19% (aubergine, sunflower seed oil), water, sunflower seed oil, tomato paste, salted ricotta cheese 3% (sheep’s WHEY, sheep’s MILK, salt), onion, salt, basil, sugar, garlic, acidity regulator: citric acid.<\/p>\n
