Product Description
Panko is a Japanese-style breadcrumb traditionally used as a as a crunchy coating for fried foods. It is made from bread without crust to create fried foods with a light, crunchy coating.
It has a crisper, airier texture than most types of breading found in Western cuisine and resists absorbing oil or grease when fried. Although predominantly used in Asian cuisine, panko has been gaining popularity in Western dishes.
