Havanna

Havanna was born in 1939 when two friends started producing the famous Alfajores Santa Monica. Alfajores are small cookies made of crumbly but firm dough, filled with dulce de leche and topped with melted chocolate or sprinkled with icing sugar and honey. The big attraction of these cookies was always the dulce de leche contained in its filling and today, the brand sells not only the traditional Alfajores but also jars of dulce de leche, as well as filled chocolates and other cookies.

One of the most typical and beloved products of Argentine cuisine

Havanna’s story began in 1939 when the enthusiasm of two young friends and entrepreneurs spoke louder, expanded and became one of Argentina’s greatest icons! Alfajores Santa Monica, as it was marketed at the beginning of its history, was produced in a small factory in Buenos Aires, having as one of its main customers a bomboniere from Mar Del Plata.
From a very good business relationship, a great friendship was born that strengthened the company’s opportunity for expansion, challenging both friends. Soon, the Havanna brand became synonymous with Alfajor and a symbol of pleasure, since at that time Argentinians and tourists bought sweets to give to friends and family. Alfajores are small cookies made of a paste of almonds, nuts, breadcrumbs, honey and filled with dulce de leche and topped with melted chocolate or sprinkled with icing sugar and honey. The main attraction of these biscuits has always been the dulce de leche contained in its filling and today, Havanna is known for the jars of dulce de leche that sells in over 320 stores (including cafes and kiosks). Havanna is also present in 2,500 outlets in 12 countries including Argentina, Brazil, the United States, Colombia, Peru, Bolivia, Paraguay, Chile, Uruguay , Venezuela, Mexico, and Spain.
