These Blue poppy seeds with their gentle aroma and taste of hazelnuts come from the opium poppy whose botanical name Papaver somniferum means the “sleep-bringing poppy”.
This plant comes from the valleys of the Himalayas and was used in Chinese opium houses for its stupefying virtues, but also against pain and its soporific properties.
