Cayenne pepper is one of the most spicy peppers in the world. Also called Pili-pili, this red pepper is harvested in Uganda.
Its scientific name is Capsicum frutescens and is part of the Solanaceae family. It is also grown in Madagascar, Congo and Zanzibar.
This pepper with a power of 10/10 on the Scoville scale, exudes a very strong and sweet flavor. It is used to spice up sauces, grills, fried vegetables or soups.
Avoid handling it with bare hands. Prefer to wear gloves. Avoid all contact with the eyes.
