Product Description
According to legend, Magdalena’s cakes were first made in the Valencia region of Spain. The story goes that a nun called Madelena in the 18th century made these cakes for pilgrims travelling to Santiago de Compostela. These pilgrims came from all over Europe and often ate very little during the journey.
Magdalena cakes quickly became a popular delicacy among pilgrims due to their soft texture and sweet taste. It wasn’t long before Valencians began selling them to pilgrims and other travellers passing through the region.
Today, Magdalena cakes are a cake eaten by all over Spain and are usually enjoyed at breakfast or with coffee. They are also popular as a snack for children and are usually served in small paper shapes in Spain.
