  1. Preheat the oven to 200°C.
  2. With a sharp knife, strike the chestnut shells and soak them in water for 10 minutes.
  3. In an oven tray, arrange the chestnuts in a single layer, sprinkling them with 1 tablespoon of coarse salt.
  4. Place the chestnuts in the oven for 30 minutes or until the shells open.
