Preparation Method

  1. Peel, remove the seeds, and cut the pears into medium pieces.
  2. Place them in a pan with a lid and cook over medium heat for 10 to 15 minutes, stirring gently from time to time.
  3. When they are translucent they are ready but be careful as they are not intended to melt completely, some pieces should remain.
  4. Most ripe pears are sweet enough but if you want you can add 1 or 2 teaspoons of sugar at the beginning of cooking.
  5. Pear jam can be prepared in advance and kept in an airtight container in the fridge for a few days.
  6. Preheat the oven to 200 °C.
  7. Dispense 4 ceramic ovenproof bowls and place a quarter of the pear compote in each.
  8. Add a chopped marron glacé and a quarter of the granola. Repeat the procedure for the other 3.
  9. Place the bowls in the oven for about 10 minutes or until warm.
  10. Serve as is or top with a small scoop of vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.
