China is known as the home of green tea. Not only is it the biggest tea producer in the world, but 70% of the tea grown and produced there is green tea – so that’s naturally the origin we chose for our flagship Taylors green tea.
We tasted a great many before finding “the one”, and it immediately wowed us. Hailing from the Zhejiang Province in Eastern China, it’s a variety of green tea called sencha, which is dried using steam. The process is kind and gentle to the leaves, helping to preserve their delicate flavour. That’s so important when it comes to green tea, which is celebrated for its subtlety and delicacy.
In the cup, you’ll taste a mellow and gentle tea with a touch of crispness and some floral notes. It’s beautifully clear, which helped to inspire its name: Pure Green.
